Description
The Varme Electric Underfloor Heating Cable Mat Kit 150w is highly versatile for heating rooms of any shape, offering quick installation over large areas. Similar to the Varme loose cable system, the cable mat system uses a 3mm twin-core cable pre-taped to a 50cm wide fibreglass mesh. As a result, it is much faster to lay, making it ideal for larger open-plan areas in electric underfloor heating projects.
The Varme Mat 150w is based on the same design as Varme Mat 200w but the lower output at 150 w /m² makes them ideal for all internal rooms, giving approximately 130w per sqm at 85% floor coverage. Consequently, it provides efficient heating for standard internal spaces in electric underfloor heating applications.
How to Select the Right Mat Size for Electric Underfloor Heating
When selecting a mat size for electric underfloor heating, be sure to allow for clearance at the room edges and between each run of mat. The normal rule-of-thumb is approximately 85% of the available free floor area for optimal electric underfloor heating coverage.

We only supply ‘twin core’ heating cables. Twin core cables have two heating elements inside which gives two important advantages over ‘single core’ cables.
Firstly you only have one end to connect to the power supply, which is a big advantage during the installation process.
Secondly the EMF (electromagnetic field) which is created in all electrical appliances and wiring is dramatically reduced, to a level where it is almost immeasurable. Whilst this may not be a major concern for you today, there is a lot of research currently being undertaken around the globe into the effects of EMF and it is impossible to predict what findings may occur in the years ahead.
