Description
The SpiderFix castellated panel is a low-profile pipe fixing system designed for fast, accurate underfloor heating installation. Manufactured from 100% recycled injection-moulded plastic, it securely holds 12mm or 16mm pipe in place while providing a stable base for floor finishes. Its slim build makes it ideal for both retrofit and new-build projects where floor height is a concern.
Each panel features an integrated castellated surface that allows flexible pipe layouts, with adjustable centres of 50mm, 100mm and up to 150–300mm depending on the design. This ensures consistent pipe spacing and even heat distribution across the floor. Snap-fit connections link panels together to create a continuous surface, while the self-adhesive backing allows for quick, clean fixing directly to the subfloor. Cutting grooves at 50mm intervals make trimming and shaping straightforward, reducing install time on site.
The system is suitable for use on concrete or suspended timber floors, as well as over insulation boards. Once installed, a fibre-reinforced self-levelling compound is recommended to create a flat, durable finish and improve heat transfer. Typical finished floor build-ups range from 20–25mm for tiles or wood directly over the panels, and 25–35mm depending on floor type and insulation setup.
Overall, SpiderFix panels provide a simple, reliable way to achieve secure pipe fixing, consistent layouts, and efficient system response, without adding unnecessary height or complexity to the build.
