Description
The High Output In-Screed Underfloor Heating Kit is designed for installing water underfloor heating within a solid floor construction, where pipework is embedded directly into a sand and cement screed or liquid screed layer. It is typically used in new builds, extensions, or full floor renovations where a new floor build-up is being created.
The system is installed using 150mm pipe centres, allowing for higher heat output while operating at lower water temperatures. This makes it suitable for use with air source heat pumps (ASHP) as well as traditional boiler systems.
The 16mm pipe is fixed securely onto insulation boards using clips or fixing rails before being covered with screed. Once encased, the screed acts as a thermal mass, absorbing and evenly distributing heat across the entire floor surface.
This kit is suitable for multi-room or open-plan installations, with zoning options available when used with the correct controls and actuators. It is commonly specified for whole-floor heating systems where consistent background heat is required.
The inclusion of insulation beneath the pipework helps direct heat upwards into the living space, reducing heat loss into the subfloor and improving overall system efficiency.
Each kit includes all core components required for installation, including 16mm barrier pipe, stainless steel manifold, pump and mixing valve assembly, actuators, wiring centre, pipe fixing system, and all necessary fittings. Pipe lengths and manifold sizing are matched to the selected floor area to support correct system performance.
Key Features- Designed for installation within screeded floor constructions
- 150mm pipe spacing for higher output at lower flow temperatures
- Suitable for use with air source heat pumps (ASHP) and boilers
- 16mm oxygen barrier pipe for durability and system protection
- Thermal mass screed for even heat distribution
- Suitable for multi-room or whole-floor heating layouts
- Pre-sized manifold and components based on floor area
- Compatible with a wide range of floor finishes once screed is cured
How It WorksThe pipe is installed at 150mm centres and fully embedded within the screed layer. As warm water circulates, the screed absorbs and stores heat, releasing it gradually across the floor surface. This creates a stable and consistent heating profile, particularly suited to continuous heating operation.
Typical Applications- New build properties with full floor build-up
- Extensions with new solid floors
- Major renovation projects involving floor replacement
- Whole-house underfloor heating systems
This kit is intended for use where a permanent, high output underfloor heating system is being installed as part of a new or replacement floor structure.
