Description
Tilebacker Insulation Board: Advanced Insulation for Electric Underfloor Heating
The Tilebacker Insulation Board offers excellent thermal properties, high density, and moisture proofing, making it ideal for electric underfloor heating and under tile heating applications. For example, you install it with electric underfloor heating cables onto uninsulated concrete or timber floors. As a result, it greatly reduces warmup times and running costs.
Varme Board is an advanced product that saves you money by preventing heat loss into concrete floors. Moreover, it is ideal for use with under-tile heating systems and being 100% waterproof is perfect for wetrooms.
In a conservatory with underfloor heating and tile flooring, we strongly recommend using an insulated tile-backer board like Varme Board. If you are still in the planning stage, we recommend that you ask your conservatory supplier/installer to leave the base slightly lower than normal so that you can accommodate the tile-backer. The boards come in thicknesses ranging from 6mm – 20mm.
We highly recommend bonding the boards to the subfloor using a standard tile adhesive.
How to Install Tilebacker Insulation Board
You lay the insulation boards between the subfloor and the heating element. This provides a smooth and protective underlay and also increases the effect of the floor heating.
