These cement-coated XPS overlay boards provide a low-profile method of installing water underfloor heating where floor build-up height is limited. Suitable for both new-build and renovation projects, they combine insulation and pipe support within a single panel, allowing underfloor heating to be installed directly over existing solid or timber floors.

Manufactured from high-density 300kPa XPS insulation with a reinforced cement facing, the boards are lightweight, waterproof, and designed to provide a stable surface for a wide range of floor finishes.

    Key Features

    • 20mm overall thickness (including 3mm cement coating)
    • Pre-routed for 15mm and 16mm underfloor heating pipe
    • 150mm pipe centres
    • High-density 300kPa XPS insulation core
    • Reinforced cement-coated surface
    • Lightweight and easy to cut on site
    • Suitable for solid and suspended timber floors
    • Panel size: 1200mm x 600mm
    • Coverage: 0.72m² per board

    Installation

The boards should be laid in a staggered brick-bond pattern over a level subfloor and fixed using a suitable flexible tile adhesive. Integrated pipe channels include straight runs, return bends and cross channels to simplify pipe installation.

    Compatible subfloors include:

    • Concrete
    • Sand and cement screed
    • Asphalt
    • Tongue-and-groove timber floors
    • Chipboard floors

    Floor Finishes

Tiles and Stone – Tiles can normally be fixed directly to the cement-coated surface using a flexible S2 tile adhesive after priming where required.

Laminate and Engineered Wood – A suitable breathable underlay should be installed over the boards before laying the floor finish. A floor temperature sensor is recommended to help protect timber flooring from excessive temperatures.

LVT, Vinyl and Carpet – These floor finishes should not be installed directly onto the boards. Prime the surface and apply approximately 10mm of fibre-reinforced self-levelling compound before laying the final floor covering. For carpet installations, the combined carpet and underlay rating should not exceed 2.0 tog.

Pipe Length – for best performance, individual pipe circuits should not exceed 100 metres.

    Delivery

Due to the fragile nature of the product, all orders are shipped on pallets to minimise the risk of damage during transport.
